Coupons Plugin
Coupons are used to enlist visitors immediately and to elicit them to use bid in auction.
In big auctions coupons could be responsible for as much as 25% of all registrations.
Using coupons plugin Site Administration will create coupons, giving:
Coupon name (SUMMER-NYC)
Time it starts (12:00 July 20, 2008)
Time it ends (14:00 July 20, 2008) (time when the coupon is not accepted anymore)
Maximal number of coupons (used by different users)
How many credits allocated
Expiring credits (yes / no)
When they expire (days)
There might be 3 types of coupons for:
- Registration
- Refer-A-Friend
- Buying credits
When expiring credits allocated, automatically “Expiring Credit Reminder” switched on, sending letter to users regarding expiration date:
The reminder sends 4 letters in total (maximum). The time is fixed and cannot be configured.
On the credits allocation date, immediately after credits allocated
3 days before expiration
1 day (48h) before expiration
the same day (24h before expiration)
If the time range of coupons is less then time of these reminders, the email just not sent.
Technical information:
A coupon cannot be used more then 1 time by the same user
Reminder letter has identifier “EXPIRING-CREDITS-REMINDER” and can be modified through “Letters” section in Site Administration
Following parameters are available
[NAME] – User first name
[COUPON-NAME] – Name of the coupon
[CREDITS-NOW] – Current amount of credits
[CREDITS-EXPIRING] – Amount of expiring credits
[EXPIRING_IN] – Time left before expiration
This plugin is available for Lowest Unique Bid Auction, and Penny Auction
