Penny Auction Software developed by Microbidsoftware includes more than 300 features in Standard version and even more in Enterprise Version. Our solution comes with a full Content Management System which means that all variables in charge of bidding are controlled by the website owner.

Our software solution is completely language independent. For the time being we have created websites in English, Greek, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian and Chinese.

General Facts About Software

Main Functions of Penny Auction Software

• When user bids on an item,  price is raised by $0.01 (configurable) and auction time is extended to 15 seconds ( time is also configurable)
• If no other bid is placed and auction time ends up, then the user placed last bid wins the auction at the bidding price

Winning the Prize

• users are notified about winning the auction by a special email
• user can purchase the item through the links
• user has notification about won items in his My Account  area
• users are able to purchase the product they won for the special price
• admin may impose restrictions on the winning limits to prevent certain users winning several times in a raw. Regulations are effected with the help of the “Winning limits” plugin

Categories & Subcategories

• Site Admin can set categories & subcategories.
• Unlimited number of products could be added to each category.

Auction setup

• Site Admin may upload up to 4 different images for each auction. Thumbnails are created automatically. Image names are optimized for Search Engines
• Site admin may enter Market Retail price of the product so users may see their savings during auction time
• Site admin may set up start and end time of auction as well as period of time to which auction is extended when bid placed
• Each auction has a unique, system generated number
• Any amount of running and closed auctions can be simultaneously displayed at the page
• The most current ended auction is displayed in the first position at the ended auctions page
• Auction auto-creation feature is available. As soon as the auction ends, admin can create its copy and activate it
• Each auction has its own URL defined by admin – which works for SEO
• Site admin may manage banners via access  to Admin Area -> Config -> Customize homepage
• Site admin can add pages, edit existing articles or upload new ones.

Registration

• Members register to take part in the auction. (Note: not all penny auctions require registration. The script can be modified to place bids through SMS,  thus making registration not required)
• SMS registration is available in many countries. Please note that additional fee could be applied to run SMS registration – you will need to buy bulk SMS messages.

Homepage

• There is a featured auction on home page which is selected by admin.
• All active auctions are displayed on the homepage automatically – most active auctions and those which will be finished soon are advanced to the top positions.
• Admin may set “weight” for each auction – auctions with the nigger weight are displayed on the top positions
• Members can place bids by clicking “bid now” button – from Homepage as well.
• Homepage Customizable scrolling banner, leading to any place on the website. Full flexibility in defining what is important to your auction. Just upload the picture and setup the link. This feature is available with a custom design only.

My Account Area

• User can access My Account after registration on the website. If your website requires email or sms authorization, user can access the website only after email or sms authorization. The verification code is sent to his email, unless he follows the link provided, he will not be able to login to the website
• Zip code verification may additionally be integrated
• In case the user forgot the password to his account, there is the password restoration feature available
• Upon the registration user is given several free credits to spend on trial bidding
• In My Account area user has, at least, depending on configuration, the following buttons:

My Bids – list of the bids

Credits History – list of credits, received and spent by user.
if  Extended Coupons Plugin installed – also shown date of expiration for expiring credits

Auctions I won – list of auctions user won, also shows a link to purchase the product, if not purchased yet.

Bid Butlers – list of active bid butlers. If Extended BidButler installed – also shown buttons to stop and resume bidbutlers.

Users Area

• Trough “My Auctions” area, users will see details of ongoing auctions they have participated.
• Bidders can review their deposits as well as the number of remaining bids in their account or in top area. Full transparency of the accounts.
• Users can see their bidding and winning history.
• Members typically pay by credit card.
  We have interfaces for LinkPoint (USA), ProtX (UK & Europe) and Tranzilla (Israel). If your country is using other payment system we can integrate with it as well.
• Yes, we support PayPal, user can pay for the credits using their PayPal account
• We can customize the script to get payment through sending SMS. We have worked with more then 12 SMS Premium Rate providers.
• Members can update and edit their account, change username, password and email address.
• Admin can edit, suspend or delete users accounts
• Site admin can view payment transaction as well as  edit order details
• Users can subscribe on newsletter, Site Admin is able to download list of users in CSV format.

Letters

All letters are configurable, meaning it might be edited by a site owner at any time. Site owner can edit text of the letters. Parameters of the letters are fixed and added automatically to the letter
