Working with PayPal on your Penny Auction Website
Working with PayPal has obvious benefits and drawbacks.
The biggest benefit is simplicity of getting business account with PayPal. It’s enough to submit a request and link your credit card to the account. It’s also free for PayPal Checkout Express.
The drawbacks are several and they are less known:
- PayPal may unexpectedly stop working with your penny auction software if a number of complaints is high. In this case an account might be frozen for withdrawal.
- PayPal accepts credit cards, but in most cases you cannot withdraw all the amount deposited by your clients for some period of time, that might be as long as 3 months
- PayPal accepts credit cards from user who doesn’t have PayPal account but requires to open PayPal account at the end of the process
- On checkout screen, if PayPal identifies that this user has PayPal account it doesn’t show credit card fields, but offers to login to PayPal account first. An identification performed is based on “cookies”.
